
History:-
Greenbank is located in St.Helens ,Merseyside.
Greenbank Tenants & Residents Association was established on May 12th 2003,following a Public meeting at the Phoenix Hotel (Bold Street) St.Helens.
Greenbank is situated in the Town Centre Ward along the Western entrance to St.Helens approaching from Liverpool.
Greenbank is a small compact area comprising flats, private and RSL houses , and a few businesses, along with two pubs and a newsagent,chemist,fast food takeaway,doctor’s surgery ,garage repair business and van hire and a golf shop.Close by are a Dairy and Royal Mail Depot.
The local RSL is Helena Housing Ltd. Whose head Office is about half a mile up the road .
The local office is in Duke Street, again about half a mile away.
FUTURE PLANS:-
At this time, a planned £12 million scheme called “ West Point “ is currently in the planning stages.This will regenerate the local economy and should provide badly needed jobs .
The plan is for a High Class development comprising 27 Luxury 2 bed apartments , a four storey 114 bedroom hotel, two licensed Restaurants , a fast food outlet, Bowling alley or similar with a first floor Night Club,and four Retail Shops (High Class),along with Car Parking for up to 219 vehicles.
This will all be built on the ex St.Thomas’s Square site.
